Does the Drama Ever Stop???

I think that no matter who you are, where you live, or who is around you; there will always be drama. He said, she said sort of stuff that doesn't always get worked out. I try to avoid the drama; of course, I have been known to cause it, but I try to avoid it. I have learned over the past few years that drama is not needed! I wish that others would see my point of view and let go of the drama as well. I have tried to work on, within myself, my actions and reactions. I have learned to not say anything when I am feeling upset or down and come back to it when I have had some time to calm down and think. For the most part, I try not to even put myself in a position where drama is involved, but in the end, it is inevitable. My family comes first and following are friends and school. Between those things, I tend to keep fairly busy with some down time. Being a stay at home mom has it's highlights and it has it's low lights, but I think it's great that I am home. I would like to work but haven't had any luck finding a job. I have applied but no word back. So, I sit at home, clean house, take care of Cassandra, do laundry and occasionally go visit or get a visit from a good friend. Weekends consist of grocery shopping and lately, having a fire outside. It's free and it's relaxing. We always have a couple close friends or a few friends to enjoy it with. We finally were rid of the drama causing next door neighbors and haven't heard from them in several months; thankfully. But drama seems to still fill the air around and I wish I had the magic words to help take it all away. I understand that everyone can't get along and people are just way to different to even remotely like each other. And although I enjoy my relationships with those around me, I don't always enjoy the bickering related to it all. I wish people would just learn to let go and move on.........

Rambling

Again, it's been a while. I guess it's been almost two years since I was on here last. So, here we go. We still live in the same house we moved into when we moved here over two years ago. We had our issues with the in-laws and stopped talking for a while but things are back on track and better than ever! We drove a 91 Crown Victoria for over a year then bought a 2000 minivan. It was great for a while until the summer of last year when it started breaking down. Now. I drive a 2000 Dodge Durango. I have always wanted a Durango. I love it. It only has 90,000 miles on it; for a 2000, that's great. It is dark green with black leather interior. The dash and door panels are black with woodgrain. It's pretty nice :) I still have the van but I am selling it. Last May, our old next door neighbors (who I had talked about before in previous posts) and us were sitting outside talking and the man had suggested that they, my hubby and him, join the volunteer fire department. It was kind of just a joke but Justin followed through with it. He has been a member since last May and loves it. He is going to go to the fire academy in the spring so he can become a full-time paid fireman. I joined in November and I am on the fundraising committee, attendance committee, and rehab. Rehab means that I go to the fires and I assist the ones fighting the fires with water and gatorade. I help keep them hydrated. I haven't been on any fire calls but I went to a medical (first responder) call. Justin has taken the course to become a first responder and has to take a national registry test to get his first responder certification. After that, he can provide medical attention to those in need until EMS arrives. Our next door neighbors, the ones we were close with, are no longer there. They moved in Sept, I think. They moved once before but came back and then moved again. We haven't spoken to them since they moved. They were liars and users and I couldn't stand that. Justin and I are close with the fire cheif and his family. Their oldest daughter is 18 and although she is younger than us, she is our best friend. We also see her 16 year old sister and her boyfriend. They are like family to us. We have been close with the 18 year old since last spring sometime. We went on a road trip with her and her then fiance to Fort Stockton, TX; which is halfway between here and Phoenix, AZ. We bought a truck from Jerimiah, the guy we lived with before we moved here. He brought my best friend/sister with him so I got to see her too, which was Awesome! It was a short visit but great. They also brought my stuff that I had stored in her garage from when we moved here.

Last August, I lost my grandmother. This is the grandmother I had not seen in 17 years or so before we moved to Florida in 2007. Justin and I went on our first family vacation last summer and we went to Florida. We got to see my aunt, grandma and some great friends. About a month later, my grandmother passed away. My aunt flew me to Florida to be there for everything so I went for a week. Justin and the kids stayed here. It was a pretty good time, considering. My dad flew in the same day as me from CO and he stayed 5 days. It was nice to get to see him and my aunt at the same time. I had some good, quality conversations with my dad and we are closer than ever. RIP grandma.
