Another big change

I haven't written since November. I seriously need to keep up with this. But, I don't have many people that read it, so I guess it's not a big deal to me. I should keep it up just to help me with writing and keep my mind open. So, last time I wrote, I was waiting to see my parents, who were in town for a couple of weeks. I was able to see my dad several times but was only able to see my mom once. It was a pretty good visit. That was the last time I saw them. They still reside in CO and are still hoping to move back to their home in AZ.

As for us, we now live in TX. Big change. We moved out of Jerimiah's house on Halloween. We moved into a home of our own out in Maricopa. Unfortunately, that only lasted all of 3 weeks. After moving into this home, my husband got a message on Myspace from a cousin on his dad's side. Then, shortly after, a message from her mom, Justin's aunt. He had not seen this side of the family in 20 years; since he was 9. It was a big shock. He had talked to his biological father once when Alanna was an infant but that was the last time. He also had not seen his dad since he was 9. He responded to his cousin and his aunt. They were so excited to hear from him. He began talking to his aunt over the phone. She ended up giving him the phone number for his dad. He called. He found out he has a 16 year old half brother, a 13 year old step-brother, an 18 year old step-sister, and a step-mother. A bit overwhelming but Justin was very excited. He talked to his dad a couple of times and one of the topics of conversation was our van. It was not running right and needed some repairs. I guess I forgot to mention that a little over a week after my last blog, Justin lost his job. We used money from my schooling and moved. He was looking into a job at Walmart and basically had a position but it wasn't going to pay much. He had also lost his license. He got into another accident at work and was laid off. He also lost his license. He still hasn't been able to get it back. Anyway, Justin was telling his dad about these repairs that needed to be done to the van and he told us to find out how much they would cost. We did that, and let him know. He told us he could send us some of the money to fix it but he was afraid that more problems would arise. He said if we lived in TX, he would have more resources. So, we talked about it and decided that since Justin was unable to find a decent job and I was unable to find anything, that maybe it would be a good move. We talked for a couple of days and weighed out our options. We were on a train to Houston, TX on Nov 21st. We sold all of our things except for clothing and sentimental things. I gave alot of the stuff I had just bought for the house to one of my best friends. Everything else, we gave away. We met a few absolutely wonderful people in the process though. I wish we had met them sooner. I still talk to one family. They inspired us. So, here we are. Living in our own place right across the street from the girls' school. Alanna is in fourth grade, Kayla is in first grade, and Taya is in all day Pre-K. They are so happy here. I have never seen Alanna and Kayla so happy. Especially Alanna; since she has been in school the longest. Justin has a very good relationship with his dad. They are very close and his dad absolutely adores the girls. We usually seem him on a weekly basis. Justin is an "assistant coach" on the baseball team that his dad coaches; which is his 13 year old step brother's team. Justin really enjoys this since he is such a big fan of baseball. There are usually 1 to 2 games a week and 1 to 2 practices a week. I don't usually go to practice. It's right across the street at the school. But I do go to games. We have to go to those. I have missed one game because it didn't start until 7:30 and it was a school night so I didn't want to go and keep the kids out that late. Justin's dad picked him up and took him so he didn't miss it. This coming Monday is another late game, not sure if I am going or not.

Cassandra is now walking and has several teeth. She is starting to throw temper tantrums too. Yay! Not really. It's a bit annoying but it's not like I haven't seen it before. Overall, things are going pretty good. We are happy here. Don't know many people, but I have never been much of a people person anyway. We are pretty close with our next door neighbor's. It's a middle aged couple with no children. So, they have pretty much adopted ours. Good people.

Well, I think this is long enough :)
